Excellent value if you need most of what it does — replacing four monitoring vendors with one is a real saving and it covers ground almost nothing else does at the price. Poor value if you came for uptime checks on a few websites, because you will pay for a platform, navigate licences and add-ons, and use a fraction of it.

Pricing is licence-based: a plan includes a number of "basic monitors" and other capabilities consume different licence types, with add-ons for extra capacity. It is coherent once you learn it and genuinely confusing before that.
It is aimed at IT teams and managed service providers rather than individuals, and the interface reflects a product with a very large surface area.

Monitoring vendors change plan limits and prices frequently and without announcement. Every figure here carries a "verify on their site" caveat and you should take it seriously before making a decision on cost.
These are not really competitors. If you run servers and applications and need APM, traces and real user monitoring, nothing here replaces Site24x7 and we would not suggest otherwise. It also checks from over a hundred locations; we check from one.
The overlap is the website slice: is the site up, is the certificate valid, is the domain expiring, has the page changed, did the cron job run. We do that slice for $5/month with almost nothing to configure, and we add page change detection, which Site24x7 does not do. If the website slice is all you need, a platform is a lot of machinery to carry.
